  • The applicant purchases the background check and receives a “Certificate” containing a unique number, and a password chosen by them.

Using Your MyBackgroundCheck.com Certificate

Your MyBackgroundCheck.com Certificate is a safe and trusted way to share the results of your background check with employers, landlords, educational institutions, volunteer groups and others that may be interested in developing further trust with you.

Each MyBackgroundCheck.com Certificate has a unique “Certificate ID Number” pre-printed on the Certificate. Each customer is given a unique “Shared Password” as well.

Others can view your results only when you have supplied them with the MyBackgroundCheck.com Certificate ID Number and the unique Shared Password.

This can be accomplished by:

A) Printing the MyBackgroundCheck.com Certificate, writing the Shared Password in the space provided on the MyBackgroundCheck.com Certificate, and giving the MyBackgroundCheck.com Certificate to someone.

Or

B) Emailing someone an invitation to view your MyBackgroundCheck.com Certificate from your MY MBC account. (login to your account – remember, your Certificate Shared Password and your login password are different!)

Those you give or email the Certificate to can create an account (don’t worry – it’s fast and easy!) on the MyBackgroundCheck.com website that allows them to view your results. Once they create the viewing account, they enter your unique Shared Password and Certificate ID Number and BOOM! They can see your results.

Completing Your Credit Report

You will be re-directed to the EQUIFAX web-site in order to finish your CREDIT REPORT. You may wish to print the following instructions.

TO COMPLETE YOUR CREDIT REPORT: You will need to do the following: 

  1. Follow the instructions on the Equifax web-site to create an Equifax account.
  2. When finished creating the account, click on the green "Go to Member Center" button.
  3. Click on the most recent purchase "SCORE Power".
  4. Select "Print Credit Report" and print results.
  5. Submit printed Credit Report results with your My Background Check Certificate to those  whom you wish to review the results.

Once they create the viewing account, they enter your unique Shared Password and Certificate ID Number and BOOM! They can see your results.

Using Your Credit Report

Equifax allows you to view and print out your credit report as often as you want for a period of 30 days. Visit their site at www.MyEquifax.equifax.com

You will need to remember the username and password you created on their site to view.

There is password help at the link above if you have forgotten it.

You will need to print the results of your Credit Report from your Equifax account and provide these results to those who wish to view them (Landlords, potential Employers etc.).
